Using O*NET in Your Work as Career Advisors

 

MCDA is pleased to offer you this opportunity to become more intimately familiar with O*NET and what it can do for you.

 

O*NET is a comprehensive database on occupational information that has been developed by the US Department of Labor.  O*NET Online is a user-friendly version of this database.

 

The information in very helpful to anyone in the career field.

 

This self-paced program, using content, videos, and exercises, takes you through some of the most important components of O*NET and suggests ways you can use it in your work.

 

Specific Skills you will learn include:

 

 

  • General Review of O*NET
  • Using the O*NET Descriptor Search
  • Searching O*NET In-Demand Industries and Occupations
  • Finding Tools and Technology Used in Occupations
  • Helping Military Transition to the Civilian World of Work Using Crosswalk
  • Help People Make a Career Transition Using Their Skills
  • Staying on Top of O*NET Activities and Updates

 

You will also have access to several additional resources that will supplement each of these skills.

 

A certificate of completion for 3.5 hours of professional development will be awarded upon completion of the activities.
